We have recently shipped a graphical tool to simply the servers management in AMP & APP Stacks for Linux, OS X and Windows. The BitNami Manager Tool is a simple graphical interface that can start and stop the BitNami servers that are located in the same installation directory. To start the utility, double click the file named ‘manager-windows’,‘manager-linux’ or ‘manager-osx’ from your file browser. |

BitNami LAMP & LAPP for Linux 64 bits |

We have just released LAMP Stacks (Apache, MySQL and PHP) and LAPP Stacks (Apache, PostgreSQL and PHP) for Linux 64 bits. You can download and install these Stacks for any Linux 64 bits distribution. These Stacks are self-contained and independent of your system, very useful for PHP developers. Currently you can deploy all BitNami Linux Stacks in a 64 bits Linux system but it was necessary to install the compatibility libraries. New PHP 5.3 AMP Stacks |

We’re happy to announce that all of the BitNami PHP-based development stacks have been updated to include PHP 5.3 support. This include both the MySQL-based and PostgreSQL-based stacks. In addition to an updated PHP version, we include the latest release of phpMyAdmin, PEAR components and related libraries, including the much requested mcrypt extension. Because the Stacks are available as native installers, virtual machine images and AMIs, you can develop on a local machine natively or in a virtual environment and then deploy the application to Amazon EC2 for testing and production. We’re pleased to announce that the BitNami AMP and APP Stacks have just been updated to include the Amazon Web Services (AWS) PHP SDK as well as updated versions of Apache and PostgreSQL (where appropriate). All BitNami *APPStacks and *AMPStacks Updated |

We’re happy to announce that all of the BitNami *APP Stacks and *AMP Stacks have been updated to newer releases of the bundled software. In all of the Stacks, PHP was updated to version 5.2.14 and OpenSSL was updated to version 0.9.8 (note that OpenSSL is not bundled in the WAMPStack or WAPPStack.) In the MySQL-based Stacks, MySQL has been updated to version 5.1.50. In the PostgreSQL-based Stacks, PostgreSQL has been updated to version 8.4.4. BitNami Redmine 1.0 Stack Released |

A couple of weeks ago, we released an updated Redmine Stack for Redmine 1.0. If you’re not familiar with Redmine, it is a flexible project management web application. Written using the Ruby on Rails framework, it is cross-platform and cross-database. It includes support for multiple projects, role based access control, issue tracking, a Gantt chart, calendar, wikis, forums, time tracking and more. The 1.0 release of Redmine is a major milestone and we’d like to congratulate and thank everyone in the Redmine project who worked on it. It includes a long list of improvements, such as:
