BitNami LAMP & LAPP for Linux 64 bits |
We have just released LAMP Stacks (Apache, MySQL and PHP) and LAPP Stacks (Apache, PostgreSQL and PHP) for Linux 64 bits. You can download and install these Stacks for any Linux 64 bits distribution. These Stacks are self-contained and independent of your system, very useful for PHP developers. Currently you can deploy all BitNami Linux Stacks in a 64 bits Linux system but it was necessary to install the compatibility libraries. From now on, you can take advantage of your 64 bits system and improve the performance of your web applications. We have also released BitNami PHP modules… more |

New PHP 5.3 AMP Stacks |
We’re happy to announce that all of the BitNami PHP-based development stacks have been updated to include PHP 5.3 support. This include both the MySQL-based and PostgreSQL-based stacks. In addition to an updated PHP version, we include the latest release of phpMyAdmin, PEAR components and related libraries, including the much requested mcrypt extension. Because the Stacks are available as native installers, virtual machine images and AMIs, you can develop on a local machine natively or in a virtual environment and then deploy the application to Amazon EC2 for testing and production. AWS CloudFormation and BitNami |
Amazon has recently released AWS CloudFormation , a new service that helps you describe a ‘stack’ of cloud resources and bring them up as a single unit. A CloudFormation stack can include among other resources load balancers, databases, EBS volumes and of course EC2 instances. A stack definition is called a template and can contain configuration information to be passed to the various resources being provisioned. At BitNami, we are pretty excited about CloudFormation and want to make it easy for you to incorporate BitNami stacks to your deployments. We have now CloudFormation templates for all PHP and Ruby on… more |
