BitNami team at FOSDEM'08

Several members of the BitNami team just hopped on a plane to Brussels to attend FOSDEM, a yearly meeting for FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) developers. If you'd like to meet up with them, you can get in touch by sending an email to info@bitnami.com.

There are a ton of cool talks planned on hot topics such as virtualization, web development, build systems, patents, games, etc. If you're not able to attend in person, you can still attend to the talks thanks to the live stream being provided. ... more

BitNami Stacks Now Support Solaris

Now that virtually all BitNami Stacks are available on Linux, Windows and OS X, we’re working on porting them to Solaris. We just released Solaris Sparc and x86 stacks for Drupal, Joomla!, Wordpress, and Mediawiki. If there’s a stack you’d like for us to port to Solaris, please leave a comment in our forums.... more

Subversion Stack Released

Subversion has been leading the BitNami poll for some time now, so we are happy to announce that the BitNami Subversion stack has been released! We currently have support for Linux, Windows and OS X, and we’ll be releasing a Solaris version shortly.

RubyStack 1.0 released, Catz and Matz rejoice!

We are big fans of Ruby and we have a number of Rails-related projects, including packaging RedMine and the BitNami site itself. We created RubyStack as a way for others to get started with Rails quickly and easily. RubyStack 1.0 Released - Now with OS X Support

After several beta releases, RubyStack 1.0 is finally here! RubyStack bundles everything you need to get going with Ruby on Rails in an easy to use installer. This latest release adds support for OS X, so we now support all three platforms (Linux, Windows and OS X). The components of RubyStack are:

Alfresco Stack Released

We just released a stack for Alfresco, which has been leading the BitNami polls for the last few weeks. Alfresco is a Java-based Enterprise Content Management System. Alfresco provides a wide range of functionality for web content, document, image and records management. The BitNami Stack for Alfresco is currently available for Linux and Windows, with OS X support coming soon. RubyStack for Windows Released

We just released a beta version of RubyStack for Windows. The new Stack includes Ruby, Rails, MySQL and Subversion and makes installing them all a snap. Future releases of RubyStack will include Apache along with other improvements…. more

Trac and Redmine Stacks Now Available

We are happy to announce the release of BitNami Stacks for Trac and Redmine. These stacks were some of the most popular results from our ongoing poll (with almost a hundred people voting for them). Both stacks come bundled with Subversion, a revision control system, and all of their required dependencies. As with all BitNami Stacks, they are packaged with fast, easy to use installers that allow you to be up and running in under five minutes. As many of you know, we recently added a poll to the site, so you can vote for which stack you’d like to see next.  Some of our current leaders are Trac, and Subversion, so we’ll be releasing stacks for those applications in the near future. Beta Corner

We’d like to make it easier for you to try the latest releases of popular open source software, so we’ve introduced a new Beta Corner section of our site.  In the Beta Corner, you’ll find the latest beta releases of the applications we’re packaging.  Just like the rest of our BitNami Stacks, the Beta Stacks are pre-configured and self-contained. You can download the stacks, install the application, test out the new features and then uninstall in just a click or two when you are done.
