Bitnami, congrats. I have been searching for a long time for a one-click open source install that actually works. You have it; I got it; I am happy.

Now that you’ve made installation easy for those of use who get queasy around terminal sessions, what about security?

What must us unsophisticats do to lock down the MySQL and PhP installs we have so easily made? Specifically for Bitnami installations. And, in good, exemplary, free-from-jargon Bitnami form.

Whatcha got?

Thanks!

Hi David,

We are glad you like BitNami. Which operating system are you using? Which stacks will you be using?

Daniel,

Thank you for responding.

I am running apps on Mac 10.4.11.

I am running Joomla, Alfresco, and, probably, DocuWiki. Did not install modules, but, rather, full installs.

Thanks for considering my questions!

Where is the app located, in your internal network or in the internet? Who needs to access those applications, the general public or just a few people you control and give access to?

Internet. General access to, for example, joomla. Permitted users with Alfresco.
