portable stacks

are any of these stacks portable?

Hi besonen,

The stacks are not portable because when you install the stack the installer write the installation path in the configuration files. You can copy the installation directory in your USB and copy in the same directory in other machine. For example you can install the Stack in /opt/stack, copy this folder in your pendrive and then copy it in the same path in other machine. it is not necessary to use the same distribution, you can install in Ubuntu and then copy in RedHat for example, or you can install in OS X 10.5 and then copy in OS X 10.4 or you can install on WIndows XP and copy the folder in other XP, Vista, etc.
