Install Alfresco on OSX 10.5.1

Hi,

I try to install “bitnami-alfresco-2.1.0-3-osx-x86-nojdk-installer” but get an error. The installer can not bind the FTP port to 21. Other ports won’t work however. I do not have an FTP server installed. Is this installer checked for 10.5.1?

When installing as a regular user, you are not allowed to bind to ports lower than 1024.
Installing as root should fix this error.
However, when installing as a regular user the installer should ask you to pick another port, which it did as far as I understood?
You entered another port number (Make sure you pick a port higher than 1024.) and it wasn’t accepted either, is that what you mean? Or did you pick another port and then saw an error in Alfresco saying that it couldn’t bind to port 21?

Thanks for your answer. I tried installing with an admin account. And I tried to change the FTP port to another port, but below 1024. I will trie that first and let you know.

I will try to install with root privileges in the above doesn’t work.
