the search is not working properly

We are using alfresco as our electronic library. When I first installed it a few months ago (not with bitnami) it took me forever to install. Now with the Bitnami it was done in 15 minutes. Only the open office did not install properly.

But for the moment the search engine is not working properly.
I’m using pdf and word documents and then try to search but the results i’m getting back are erratic so I have no idea how this is possible. Can you help?

I believe Alfresco uses OpenOffice to index the PDFs, etc. maybe the failed OpenOffice installation is affecting search? What failed during installation?

I redid the complete installation of the bitnami stack to see the error of openoffice. It said something like child space not working.

Reinstalled open office via apt-get and the ctlscript acknowledges that the openoffice works
Indeed the search seems to work. If you hear nothing from me it was the openoffice (so guess it would be a good idea to make it mandatory at installation like tomcat and co.

Search is working fine indeed. But a small glitch is there. In the advanced search area when I try to select a space I cannot an hourglass is running perpetually. Can you help me?
