2 Questions: CIFS and Admin Console
|

Hi everyone, I have been trying to get a copy of the BitNami Alfresco stack working for several days now and have a few questions. I have searched the forums and cannot seem to find the answers I am looking for, hopefully some of you can help me out. I am running the windows native stack on Windows XP, the install goes fine, services start up, and I am able to get into mydomain:8080/share and mydomain:8080/alfresco. Question #1: In the regular alfresco install, from the alfreso site, after logging into the Share portion there used to be “Admin Console” button on the top right, in the BitNami stack it is gone, any ideas of how to get it back, or why it is not there? That was the simple question and something I can live without. Question #2: After the install, I try to map the alfresco drive on any other computer that is on the same domain as the Windows XP “alfresco Server” machine. When I try to use \\machinenameA\alfreso it cannot find path, if i use \\ipaddress\alfreso or \\machinename\alfreso I get a login box but no username\password configuration works. From reading around I came to the conclusion that the BitNami stack come with CIFS configured, the FTP does work, but I really need to be able to map the drive with CIFS to have the check in and check out option. Has anyone had this work successfully out of the box? Any suggestions as to what I should try? Thank you in advance. Roman |

Hi, About the first issue I think that it is an application issue so you can find more help in the official Alfresco forums. The Stack does not configure CIFS, only the FTP so you should have to configure manually. |

Thanks for the reply beltran, for some reason I thought that CIFS was also configured out of the box. Shouldn’t I at least be able to map the drive as a network drive without having to configure CIFS, or is the only way to get a shared drive with Alfresco to map it with CIFS. You wouldnt know of any good instructions to follow to configure CIFS, the official Alfresco documents seem to give you all the options and parameters but not clear way of “here is what you do…” Thanks Roman |
