Windows 2003 - zip file import problem

I loaded the Alfresco stack after I found difficulty in in stalling the windows services from the wicky version community download. I ziped up my directories and imported them into Alfresco as per normal. PROBLEM – some 12hrs later none have extracted. I know that you sometimes have to wait a while but this does not seem correct.

It depends on a lot of variables (resources of your machine, size of the files, how many files,…) although 12 hours seems a lot :) Do you see anything in the log files? Alfresco is a heavy application and for a good performance it requires a ‘big’ machine. I found this post with suggestions for improve perfomance in an Alfresco installation. If you find which is the problem and you have any suggestion for improvement we’d love to hear them.

Thank you for your answer. I think it has something to do with the system configuration. I imported the files manually with no problem.
Now I need to solve the CIFS problem. More of that after I have exhausted my efforts.
