The wordpress install is stuck at 2.6* on the rightscale install. This stinks. I am unable to do the ftp upgrade as I cannot get to the server. Please help. Thanks. |

Hi, Yes we should update RightScale Stacks. You should have access to the RightScale Virtual Machine through ssh so you can uninstall the previous BitNami Wordpress, copy the new Stack and install the new Wordpress using text mode (it is not necessary to have graphical access). Cheers. |

I spent an hour or so doing the upgrade manually. Good news/Bad news. The good news is that the upgrade worked. The bad news is that a reboot reverts the files in the apps/wordpress/htdocs folder back to their prior state. Actually this is a great feature to keep the instance integrity intact. However, I wish I would have known before investing time in the upgrade. Clearly there is a different process that I should be following so that the changes are not reverted. Suggestions welcome. I’m running the LAMPStack on RightScale with all of the apps enabled (including WordPress). |

Hi, I think that you can take snapshots in RightScale so you can save the current machine status. Another option is to save an installdir copy in your Amazon S3 accout (/opt/lampstack-version) and you can restored in any other linux machine. Cheers. |
