Loading from an external database

My friend has send me his drupal database file .sql for a site which he is creating. How can i load it using my existing drupal installation. I have one which is called Localhost and the otherone i created called testsite using multihost. How do i load his database.

DO i do one more multisite and use his database or what are the other options..

Also he is using a mac and i am on windows
