Greetings… I am not a newbie per se.. just rusty .. he he he… After 4 days of many hours attempting to install some of these packages on Ubuntu .. moonOS.. and other linux distros… wow… very very cool to find this website.. that i found in a comment somewhere in my reading … yeah.. i could easily setup LAMP in PCLinuxOS Gnome… or others too… but i thought i could DIY had some hassles with Mysql .. Php .. and so on… What I really wanted was this! To be able to easily setup these packages for localhost usage… excellent .. very well done… I would like to see ngnix, cherokee, lighttpd used instead of Apache… why? these others appear to be more efficient .. light and as I have read a lot during these past days… these webservers are much more suitable for small to medium websites.. along with .. say Yaws…too I am just a poor EFL teacher in Asia so I certainly cannot afford to pay $ to Bitnami .. but I wouldn’t mind learning how to do it … Drupal seems to be a headache.. and others.. fantastic service .. in order to be able to do this … many grateful thanks to this team he he he I installed the postgre stack first then realized that Wordpress wanted MySql.. i am not sure if it is easy enough to install Wordpress using it though i just finished installing the LAMP stack.. along with Mediawiki now for the others… in my setup for LAMP i un-installed the postgre stackthen installed the LAMP stack Mysql could not use 3306 searching through the forum here i could not find an answer so i used a Net search .. i changed the port to 3350 cool.. really cool uninstallation of the other stackwent very smoothly too… i am curious though i have 3 static IP e.g. xx.xxx.xxx.67-69 once i set up the webserver am i able to view the Wordpress Mediawiki blogs on the other computer? actually for now i just wish to use localhost… but i am curious if it is possible to view it on the other computer… i certainly will start letting others know about this Website… thanks!!!!!!1 |

Very cool! just finished Wordpress… wow… i am certainly going to visit many Linux blogs over these coming weeks… i am very enthusiastic for this service… i have spent hours upon hours.. of viewing many blog posts and comments in a lot of forums in setting up Wordpress.. nothing comes close to this ease and convenience… even Wordpress famous 5 min. setup is pale in comparison to this BitNami service…. incredible.. i am curious .. and i will try it out .. i am going to set up other Linux distros… now i am in Ubuntu 9 Jaunty .. works like a charm… better than apple pie with ice cream… later i will use moonOS ( i triple boot on this P4 computer.. yeah you got it right … even this dinosaur of a P4 works quite well using Linux… ) then for a challenge .. PCLinuxOS Gnome.. because Ubuntu and moonOS allow sudo .. using user password… not needing to have a Root Administrator’s password… i have even tried out Puppy linux .. there is a special Pup .. webserver .. but seems to give me some little troubles.. now for Drupal… this is better than apple pie with ice cream .. or brownies.. or Häagen-Dazs ice cream…. |

Greetings… now i have just finished installing Enano CMS here is a clip from the introductory page too… Because this is a beta release, we can’t provide any mainstream support for you. We can publish workarounds for bugs, but we can’t help you figure out why a plugin doesn’t work or why your server’s generating a 403 error. If you need help getting started with Enano, use a stable release. Using BitNami .. (at least here on my P4 running Ubuntu 9 .. also .. i got confused learning how to use chmod properly too.. he he he … so i introduce my lazy way .. install mc .. (Midnight Commander) then F9 for the menu.. File .. select the pack you wish to install .. select chmod .. execute by owner.. then ok…) no server generating a 403 error for me.. which happened a lot in the past week…. thanks again… installing these packages in this easy convenient manner is like being a kid again in a Candy shop .. or Christmas shopping .. |

Greetings again…. I just finished installing EZ Publish…. you know… i recall viewing a website .. that wants to display what they or others consider a killer app i wish to find my bookmark again.. and tell them .. about BitNami…. now i need to find a good way .. so it does not seem i am just spamming Linux forums.. he he he and spread the good word about this very cool place.. of course i might have some troubles as i have noticed in the forum here… but hey.. that is everywhere… however, it is truly amazing and incredible … that i have been able to install and set up these packages so conveniently on my P4 … (of course P4 has nothing to do with installation woes.. just that it is quite old .. but as anyone can see .. installation is quick… ) |
