problems with mac and bitNami WP stack

Hi,

So I’m not new to wordpress, but I am new to BitNami. I used to use MAMP but MAMP gave me write issues, so I installed BitNami and it was great…

until I restarted my computer, suddenly, I can’t access anything through this URL:

http://127.0.0.1:8080/wordpress/

This happens everytime I restart.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I missing something obvious? Is there a better way to use this product?

I am really stumped here. And I can’t seem to get around this problem. :( Any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.

Hi,

You should start the servers from a Terminal before rebooting:

$ cd /Applications/wordpress-(version)
$ ./ctlscript.sh start

Solved now.

I’m having the same problem, but when I try to start the server from the terminal, I get this error message.

“-bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(’

I have zero experience with databases.

Any ideas?

Please do not include “$” characters, it is simply for referring to the terminal. We will include a graphical tool for all Stacks in next releases.
