Version change and OpenOffice problem

Hi, I downloaded your linux bitnami installer stack for Knowledgetree a few weeks ago to test on a server. We liked the software and decided to go ahead and do a proper install. I downloaded the installer again and installed it on the target server, but I now get errors telling me that Open Office server cannot be contacted “Cannot connect to Open Office Server on host ‘127.0.0.1:8100’. I looked around the KT forums and it seems that openoffice server isn’t running. In fact I look in the /opt/knowledgetree directory and see that the openoffice files haven’t even been installed. However they were in the previous installation which is working fine. I checked the version numbers. The file I downloaded a month ago was called ktdms-oss-3.5.3-linux-installer.bin, whereas the one I got today was bitnami-knowledgetree-3.5.2-2-linux-installer. It seems that the later file is in fact an earlier version. And also it seems that the version doesn’t install correctly. What do you think might be going on here? And where can I download a working installation? |

I’ve been doing a bit more investigation, and it seems that the whole directory structure is radically different between the two versions. For example the config.ini file is in a completely different place. The control script has a different name – it is now called ctlscript.sh. This is somewhat confusing as now all the information on the Knowledgetree wiki and forums is irrelevant. Which version should I be using? |

OK, I found the ktdms-oss-3.5.3-linux-installer.bin file on sourceforge, so I removed the current install and ran the new installer. It was around 300Mb, so I figured it would also contain openoffice. All seems good now. Perhaps I got confused about the files and versions, so apologies if that was the case. |

Hi Plutocrat, There are two stacks, the ktdms-oss stack which is provided by Knowledgetree and the bitnami-knowledgetree that BitNami provides. There are similar but there are some differences (the name of the main script, the url, etc). We are trying to integrate all web applications in a platform to install/remove applications over the same web server and database easily. The BitNami stack does not contain Open Office (yet) but it supports OS X :) We will take in account your feedback and we will modify the KnowledgeTree Stack to include OpenOffice. Thanks. |

Hi, thanks for all your efforts. I’ve tried to install the OOo stack, but I can’t find tar. Can you help me get tar installed? |
