I just downloaded MAPPStack 1.2-1 for both Intel-based and PPC-based OS X. The issue is the same for both versions.

In the mapstack.pdf install manual, it says that, “the installer will ask you for the initial password to access the your phpPgAdmin installation through the web. This password cannot be empty.”

However, the installer never gave the opportunity to enter a password for phpPgAdmin. I tried on both the Intel and PPC versions and I tried install twice on both platforms. No luck.

Installation completes without issue and everything else works fine. The Apache server starts up and I can access the basic “Start” screen via a browser. There is just no option to enter an initial password for phpPgAdmin’s “Administrator” user account.

UPDATE: Since I did not have the option to create a password for phpPgAdmin, I tried several options. I discovered that if I use the same password as entered for PostgreSQL’s “postgres” user I was granted access to phpPgAdmin. Is this what is supposed to happen? If so, then the user manual needs to be updated.

Hi,

Yes, we have to update the manual. The phpPgAdmin credentials are “Administrator” and the same password that you set during the installation. Once you are in the phpPgAdmin application you have to log in in the database. The credentials are “postgres” and the same password that you set during the installation.
