This may be an impossibility, but I have to make the suggestion…

Could there be a way that a visitor to BitNami could go to a form and choose their OS then through the use of check boxes choose the components for their ‘custom’ stack? Hit the ‘create my stack’ button then in a few moments download?

I was thinking about starting with a MAPP stack, but wondered what I would need to do to add gallery or phpBB when this idea popped into my head. Naturally there would need to be dependency resolution (eg adding mysql to the above example)...

This would take BitNami to a whole new level. If this idea could not in all practicality be done then is there a way to add individual components to a ‘starter’ stack?

Hi Blender,

Your suggestion is on my mind since the BitNami was released :) This is one of the final ideas but we are working step by step. Currently there are “modules” which are applications to be installed over your AMP Stack. For example if you want to install Gallery and phpBB in your OS X you can download and install MAMP and then the Gallery and phpBB modules.

Cheers.
