do I need a separate install of subversion for external access?

Would I need to install another instance of subversion (collabNet for example) to watch on port 3690 so that I can get access to my repo from a remote computer with Tortoise svn? If so, will there be a problem with telling BitNami that the svn port is 36900 ? (note that I only have one repo – and want to point Trac to it – and be able to access it remotely through either Tortoise SVN or the svn command line utility.) Thank you. |

I have confirmed with both BitNami Trac and BitNami Redmine that I need to have CollabNet SVN pre-installed and listening to port 3690. Then, when I install either Trac or Redmine, I set the port they they listen to SVN to 36900. I can now browse the repository remotely (svn://path…) and Trac/Redmine have access to the repo locally on the server. (tracSubversion and CollabNetSVN services are running simultaneously on the server.) |

Hi, Sorry for the delay. The Trac and Redmine Stacks configures a Subversion repository. If you have already installed a Subversion repository you can configure the svn port to a different one (for example 36900). Once installed the application you can configure the application to use a different repository and also removes the Subversion server installed. |

Are you saying that now I can configure Trac to look at port 3690 and uninstall the CollabNetSVN service? |

You can remove the tracSubversion servier if you are using the CollabNetSVN server. |
