Chaning files not showing on localhost:8080

Hi, I need some help with my WAMP install. I’ve installed it and everything seems to work well, I’m using port 8080, and can get to phpMyAdmin fine. I’ve created databases and also another user for my db connection. What happening though is changes that I’m making to files in the root of webserver – htdocs (I haven’t changed it) are not show up on my local server. I changed the username for the MySQL connection but it’s still saying can’t connect using the old connection – the one that I originally had in there. Is there a command I need to run to flush the server? I even made basic text changes to index.html and application.html and those aren’t showing up either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I’ve actually discovered the problem, the install directory was Program Files which required Adminstration rights to change files, and it seems that that stopped the server picking up new changes, even after I attempted to change the properties. I reinstalled in just c:\ and it now is picking up the changes. |

Hi, Are you using Vista? I’m glad to hear that you can resolve the issue. Cheers. |

Yes, I’m on Vista. I tried to change the perms on the folders but that didn’t work. In saying that I’m only getting back into coding I’ve not done much for about 5 years. There has been a few strange things happening, for example I installed Word Press and couldn’t connect to my DB and after an hour or so of messing around with things, I decided just to create a new db – and it worked straight away. IT’s all working now which is good – I just have to figure out WordPress. |
