RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: couldn't connect to host

I’ve installed the Bitnami WAMPStack + Wordpress. All works fine except for the same error in 3 of the WP dashboard boxes – WordPress Development Blog, Incoming Links & Other WordPress News.

“RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: couldn’t connect to host”

We are behind a proxy & the browser is configured to use this proxy.

How can I resolve this problem?

These boxes require to connect to Wordpress official site. Do you have internet connection? Is there any proxy in your network which could be filtering these request?

When I use it at home, all works fine. The problem only occurs when I use it in the office.

I do have a working Internet connection at home and work.

We do have a websense proxy at work & the browser is automatically configured to use this proxy.

Do you know what I should ask our IT security person to do to the proxy so this Wordpress RSS feed problem goes away?

Sorry no idea about your proxy configuration. Maybe he knows what he should modify it. Anyway these boxes is only for updates, news, etc,..I mean it not essential to use Wordpress application.
