|

Dear Friends, Though its a very amateur query but sill i want to know wat is the easiest way to deploy the website made on wordpress (that is been installed on the pc via bitnami). I make my approach more narrow in the way if i want to deploy my site on godaddy, wat kinda simple steps would help me on doing so. Thanks Mehroz |

Hi, Do you have full access to your godaddy machine? If you have your wordpress installation in a Linux machine you can simply stop the servers, create a tarball and upload to your server. For Wordpress it is necessary to update the domain name or the IP address. Take a look this post http://bitnami.org/forums/forums/wordpress/topi… |

Yet i dont have the full access but still i will get it in a few days coz my site is almost completed, I just wanted to know what folders i ve to transfer on the server via FTP, and i got it !! that i have to change the domain name or IP via mentioned query but still the question is what folder is needed to be uploaded on the server Thanks Mehroz |

Hi, Not sure if you only have access through ftp so you can not install the BitNami Stack there. In this case you only have to upload the /apps/wordpress/htdocs folder and import the MySQL database. |

hey, In case i install bitnami stack there, then wat i ve to do ??? i mean that would be fresh copy with a new site setup but i need to upload/shift my already constructed site there …. wat i ve to do then ?? |

Hi, Lets say you have BitNami Wordpress stack installed on your machine in /opt/wordpress. If you want to move it to the other dedicated server, it is enough to compress the installation directory, copy it over to the remote machine and extract in the same location (/opt/wordpress in our case). Please let me know if it is what you are looking for ? |
