Wordpress Not Starting after CentOS Restart

On a CentOS server, I have restarted the server and now can’t get into Wordpress. This is the first time I have restarted the server since installation.

Also, I was unable to get the symlinks to work and that is why I restarted the server.

OK, so I did a search and found this post to get it started again.

However, still have the problem of getting permalinks to work that was my original. Do you know what I need to edit to get the permalinks working? I am trying to get BuddyPress to work and permalinks can not be the default.
