BitNami Liferay Stack greatly simplifies the deployment of Liferay and its required dependencies. It can be deployed using a native installer, as a virtual machine or in the cloud.

Liferay is a portal framework that has been in development since 2000. It helps to streamline business processes by offering a single sign-on, web-based gateway for users to locate relevant content and easy access to commonly used applications. Liferay is focused on the user experience and allows customization through drag-and-drop portlets, themes and personal pages with a self-defined, friendly URL. The portal also offers control over access to sensitive information and functionality, collaborative tools such as instant messaging, message boards, blogs and wikis, and access to all the organization’s data, content, and information.

The BitNami Liferay Stack native installers were packaged using BitRock's cross platform installer tool.

Native Installers

BitNami native installers automate the setup of a BitNami application stack on Windows, Linux or Mac OS X. Each installer includes all of the software necessary to run out of the box (the stack). The process is simple; just download, click next-next-next and you are done! BitNami stacks are completely self contained and will not interfere with other software on your system. Virtual Machines

BitNami virtual machine images contain a minimal Linux operating system and a fully configured BitNami application stack. Running virtual machine images requires a hypervisor such as VMWare or VirtualBox, so it is recommended for system administrators and advanced users. Learn more about BitNami Virtual Machines

Cloud Computing

BitNami Cloud images extend stack appliances to run in a cloud computing environment. You can run BitNami applications on a pay-as-you-go basis, programmatically starting and stopping them. BitNami cloud images are currently available for Amazon EC2 and GoGrid, with planned support for additional cloud environments. Learn more about BitNami Cloud Images.
